Compass: Guiding You to Playa Vista

What is Compass?
Compass is Playa Vista’s innovative commuter program that helps make Playa Vista a premiere place to work (did we mention everything we provide is free!?). We work to match the right people with the right transportation solution, providing support to individual commuters and employers alike.

One of our services is helping you find the perfect commute to your workplace. We offer a simple and intuitive online, desktop friendly and mobile responsive trip planner. Just put your A to B in our online trip planning tool to see what options make the most sense for you. You can find a carpool partner, get turn-by-turn biking and walking directions, and see which transit routes can help you complete your trip.

In addition, Compass offers a number of benefits programs that all Playa Vista employees may be eligible for. Read on below to see the range of commute options at Playa Vista!

Playa Vista’s Bike Loaner Program
Compass and Bike Attack have teamed up for the Bike Loaner Program. Biking to work might be super convenient for you based on where you live, but if you don’t own a bike you’ll never be able to try it out. We’re loaning out free KHS Urban X bikes for a 5-day period for you to try a nifty bike commute instead of driving. You’ll also receive personalized bike routing assistance, all the bicycling accessories you’ll need like a helmet, lock and lights, and safety/educational resources. If you haven't already, please email sign up for the wait list.

Transit at Playa Vista
Transit is a convenient way to get to Playa Vista for employees that live in nearby communities. Use the Compass tool to quickly find the transit route(s) that serves your needs. Just put in your A to B, and see what routes match your schedule.

Explore Your Backyard!
Have you heard about the Playa Vista Daily Shuttle? This shuttle connects your office front door to Runway to the gym to shops & restaurants at Concert Park and more! Did we mention it is free? Making it almost too good to be true. Hop on to explore the Playa Vista neighborhood.

Try It for a Month, On Us
If you’re looking to change the way you get to work, Compass can help you make that first step. Folks who currently drive alone to work can be eligible to receive a sweet, custom-designed TAP card pre-loaded with a one-month EZ Transit Pass, which allows you to travel with unlimited rides on 23 different LA County transit providers—for free. We hope you’ll use it every day to get everywhere, but we ask you commit to using it to get to work during your free month. The following routes serve Playa Vista, and accept the EZ Transit Pass as a valid form of payment: Big Blue Bus Routes 3, R3, or 14, Metro Bus Routes 110 or 108, Expo Rail Line or Metro Green Line, and the LADOT Commuter Express Bus 574 from Sylmar! To sign up, or get more information on this program, please email the Compass team.

Share the Ride
Thousands of commuters come into Playa Vista every day—from far-flung regions to areas just next door. Cars with two or more passengers can use the High Occupancy Vehicle carpool lanes throughout Southern California’s freeways to save an average of 56 minutes each day. Find a carpool partner by putting in you’re A to B on the Compass tool, and see if you have any matches. Message folks directly through the online system to discuss logistics and availability. No matches today? Then post your carpool for future trip searches to connect with you.

Culver CityBus Is Here!
For folks living within proximity to any of the different Culver CityBus routes serving Playa Vista, and currently driving alone, we have an extra-special program. Compass and Culver City have teamed up to offer you six free months of unlimited Culver CityBus transit fare — pre-loaded on a sweet, custom-designed TAP card. In exchange, we only ask that you ride the bus once a week to get to work (at least). For more information on our exclusive Culver CityBus Pass Program, please reach out to our team!

Compass is always here for you. Got a burning transportation question or comment? Just let us know! Please contact the Compass Team!
